Dr. Karen Hailpern

In 1991, Dr. Hailpern graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. As an undergraduate at Colorado State, she had majored in microbiology and medical technology, working in (human) hospital laboratories in Colorado and California before attending vet school.

Dr. Hailpern joined Golf Rose Animal Hospital in 1998. Before that, she had worked at several small animal practices in the Chicago area, including the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago. Areas of practice of special interest to Dr. Hailpern are geriatrics and surgery.

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Hailpern loves the mountains! She met her husband while doing field research on black bears in the mountains of North Carolina. They have one 18-year old cat. In her spare time, Dr. Hailpern enjoys hiking and needle crafts.
